Tosca and the Women: Giorgio Ferrara
Giorgio Ferrara is a member of the Accademia d'Arte Drammatica "Silvio D'Amico". Former Assistant Director to Luca Ronconi and Luchino Visconti, he has since worked as a director of theater and cinema.
His stage work includes Pirandello's Trovarsi, Goldoni's La Vedova Scaltra, Tosca e altre due by Franca Valeri and Natalia Ginzburg's L'Inserzione.
For the French staging of the latter production, he won the "Prix de la SocietŽ des Auteurs et Compositeurs" for the best direction of an Italian contemporary work of art.
For the cinema he has directed:
Un cuore semplice (1977) with Adriana Asti, Alida Valli and Joe Dallesandro. Winner of the David di Donatello, Saint Vincent, Nastro d'Argento and Premio Rizzoli prizes.
Caccia alla Vedova (1991) with Isabella Rossellini, Tom Conti, James Wilby and Michel Duchaussoy.
For Television he directed the musical Addaven“ quer giorno e quella sera (1979); L'uomo che ho ucciso (1994) and Avvocati (1997).
